You can buy the filters from Sears here in Texas for about $54 or you can buy the same filter online for about one-third of that price including shipping. It makes no sense to buy this filter locally since they seem to think they can charge you whatever they want to for the product.

the only thing that would have been helpful would have been a link to something which showed for which refrigerators the filter was appropriate - i needed to find an old receipt for a previous purchase to id it.

This is the about the seventh time I have had to replace the water filter in my Kenmore refrigerator. I find that Sears charges much more for the filter than I can find it at other stores. It did take me a little research to match up the model number for the Kenmore recommended filter to its Whirlpool model number. Now, I have discovered I can get it for about $10 cheaper on Amazon, and it qualified for free shipping.
